New bags

So, turns out I'm not real good at keeping a blog.  Yeah, I'm not surprised either.  My attention span is a little lacking.  I have much more motivation for everything though, now that the sun is actually out!

I am trying my hand at different types of bags.  I came across a pattern for a reversible bag with an adjustable strap.  I really wanted to try it, but had to wait for some fabric to jump out at me.  Well, I finally found some I liked, and here's what I ended up with.

Nice and room, enough strap to go across the chest and inside pockets.  Even manage to tackle a magnetic snap! 

Then, ofcourse, Izzy wanted me to make her something.  I found some pink fabric on the remnant rack, bought a fat quarter to match and a little silver paint.  I made a pattern trying to get something that wouldn't look too big on Izzy.  Here's what we got:

It has a braided strap and yes, I even hand painted ballet shoes on it.  She uses it for her tap and ballet shoes for dance class.  My sewing is much better than my painting :)

I've been working on more things, but I will spread it out a little!

Spring Break

So, today was the first day of spring break, and we barely broke 30 degrees.  We weren't going to be going out, so the kids got a chore list, and I worked on some sewing projects.  I'm trying to get this blog up and running, and open an etsy shop.  Today I worked on making things, and tomorrow my plan is to take pictures and get items posted.  I have some very cute things that I am excited about!!
